Your brain is constantly searching to achieve your highest purpose in life but often we are not using all the tools we have to achieve that sense of happiness, the actualisation of our higher purpose. When our subconscious mind has an idea of what it wants for us and we are not living up to that vision, this is where we feel unhappiness and unfulfillment.
In your brain you have a visual cortex and an auditory cortex. We under utilise these to achieve what we really want for ourselves. You have probably heard of visualising your goals, but this should not be confused with your dreams. Dreams are achievements that are impossible, improbable and un-strategized.
– Impossible: These are things that are total fantasy, they don’t exist and ultimately focusing on these is self-defeating
– Improbable: These are things that you may think you might like to be or have, but they don’t align with your core values and certainly don’t align with your highest value
– Un-strategized: These are important, possible and align with your values but have not be correctly thought through and planned, which means that they are possible but can also be self-defeating because you aren’t working towards it or them
If you truly want to achieve a goal and it is not impossible or improbable (according to the above descriptions) and you want the strategy to succeed in attaining them, here is how you can use these two important spheres in your brain (visual and auditory vortexes) to achieve them.
Firstly, make sure that they are doable achievable and really important to you. That they align with your values and your life demonstrates them. That you are truly willing to do what it takes to achieve them. Make sure that they are inspiring so that you can clearly see them in your mind and that you will take the action necessary to actualise them.
Make short statements that are real and doable and that make your achievement stated in the positive, in other words don’t make statements like ‘I am not a…’ or ‘I won’t…’ and make them in the present. For example, don’t say ‘I want to…’ or ‘I will…’ because that tells your subconscious that this will start being effective one day. Rather affirm that ‘I am…’ or ‘I do…’. This shouldn’t be kidding yourself for example saying, ‘I am a millionaire’ when you are not, but rather say ‘I am building financial wealth’. Not too many affirmations, maybe five or six.
Write them on sticky notes and stick them on your bathroom mirror and repeated every day in your diary. Say them out loud as many times a day as you can. After brushing your teeth or when you are driving in your car. If your spouse or partner see them on the mirror everyday it may inspire them to help and support you. They may even develop their own.
Take a large piece of cardboard, print images that represent your desired state or outcome from google pictures and print them out or cut out pictures from magazines. Create a collage of these meaningful images. They must be images that are meaningful for you. Not fantasies that you will not be able to achieve in the timeframe that you have set out for yourself, unless they inspire you enough to achieve your sense of greatness. For example, to put up a picture of Richard Branson if your representation of that picture is what your level of financial success will be in one year is ridiculous, however, if the picture represents confidence and expanding possibilities then that can work. Don’t put anything on that is not truly meaningful and congruent with your values. Don’t put anything on that you are not truly committed to work for. If you do it is self-defeating, and you are setting yourself up for failure. It must be things that you feel are yours for the taking and something that is destined to be achieved.
Again, stick this where you will see it every day. Take a picture of it with your cell phone and make it your wallpaper or desktop on your PC. This visual will make it real and achievable to your subconscious mind.
If you constantly activate your visual vortex and your auditory vortex, you will work towards it. If you have a clear picture of what you truly want by reminding yourself through your visualization and affirmation, there is no reason that you can’t have what you truly want. I will go further to say that this will create a greater sense of happiness and achievement on a daily basis. Your daily work and activities will have greater purpose because you will consider them as steps towards your vision for yourself. Your daily challenges will become easier to overcome because you have a purpose that is greater than the stumbling blocks.
This can better be actualised if those closest to you are informed of what it is you are working towards and if you ask them for their support and encouragement. It is also more likely to succeed if you have someone to guide you and make you more accountable, like a life coach or mentor.
